How Can You Increase Your Capacity?

“For the first time since last November, I was able to NOT be here on Sunday morning and take a personal weekend with my husband without feeling like everything would fall apart.  I knew we had a structure in place and I had leaders that could manage it without me.  This freed up my TIME which gave me space so I could be away.”  Candace Johnson, Children’s Ministry Director, Discovery Bible Fellowship

4 Reasons Why You Or Your Business Aren’t Growing!

  1. Fear – negative thinking that for some reason “you can’t do it” –   This is, by far, the most common base reason why people and companies don’t move forward.  Familiar seems safe.  And we like to feel safe!                                                      “Business don’t succeed or fail.  People do.”  Truett Cathy, Founder of Chick-fil-A.                                                                                                    Fear is a paralyzer!  It’s the reason behind the phrase “Deer In The Headlights”.  These fears all have a root in our minds.  It’s what we have come to believe about ourselves and our circumstances.  These fears must be confronted and replaced with truth before we can fully move forward.  You have to change the way you THINK and you can’t do it on your own.
  2. Blame – other people or circumstances (time or money).  Getting caught in the cycle of “not enough time” or “not enough money”  (feelings of being out of control/trapped) –   This is a classic response to reason #1!  We fear failure or looking bad, so we simply deflect and blame something else.  “If it wasn’t for ______________, I would be more successful, wealthy, happy…”  It’s just too easy to blame  others and not take responsibility for my own actions.  This blaming has to come to an end so we can move forward while taking responsibility for our own actions.  You need help navigating out of this habit.  You won’t be able to do it alone.
  3. Ignorance – lack of knowledge and experience – Too often we feel like “the idea” is the thing!  Although its very important to have a great idea or a great vision, many visionaries lack the knowledge and experience to actually bring that vision to a successful reality.  This would be the classic “dreamer” scenario.  Successful people and organizations have GREAT IDEAS plus GREAT DELIVERY SYSTEMS!  You need a plan!
  4. Acceptance – acceptance of average – This is another major factor in people and companies not moving forward.  We simply sit back and compare.  “I’m doing better than Bill, so that means I’m OK.”  We measure our success by the standards of others rather than the standards and goals that are within us.  As a result, we become AVERAGE – not too far from everyone else.  Great people and companies set high standards and do everything possible to meet them, exceed them and reproduce them in the hearts and minds of others.
